We are in front of the Church of the Annunciation, Temple of the seventeenth century declared a Historic- Artistic monument of national character in 1983. Mudejar architecture, heir to the Islamic and Christian tradition. Its interior has a rectangular floor plan, with three naves separated by slender pillars, giving the building noble proportions.

Its main chapel is covered by a vault decorated with images of tetramorphs. On the left side is its square tower, crowned by the belfry, to which a section was added after the Civil War and which gives the tower slenderness and majesty. On the right side is the sacristy that leads to the chapel and the gardens that surround the building and give access to the side doorway, today blinded. The central nave has a magnificent wooden coffered ceiling. Attached to the lower left corner, is its baptismal chapel of the XVIII and XIX centuries of square plant, covered by a vault.

The doorways present a complex composition, framed in the classicism of the first Baroque. The main one is crowned by the coat of arms of Bishop Portocarrero, the side one, which is in poor condition, by the coat of arms of the Marquises of Villena and Dukes of Escalona. During the civil war the building did not suffer irreparable damages, except for the tower, but it was the object of spoliation, destroying its decoration.

From this point, it is necessary to mention, the Real street as the main road that surrounds the historic center of the town, generating a plot of beautiful corners, where there are some examples of stately homes with magnificent facades built during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Next, we invite you to contemplate the interior of the church (visitable during hours of worship). Then you should go to our next stop, the Castle of Serón and its viewpoint, from where we will contemplate an impressive view of its surroundings.
We are waiting for you.
